- Recipe
- Ingredients:
- 10g Glycerol
- 200ml Water
- 10ml Vinegar
- 10g Coffee Grounds
- 4g Grams Sodium Alginate
- A day before, prepare a 2% alginate solution by mixing 200 ml of water with 4 grams of sodium alginate. Leave the solution to sit for 24 hours. Dry coffee grounds and make sure they are finely ground.
- Ingredients:
- Mix the coffee grounds with 40 grams of the alginate solution and 10 grams of glycerol. Carefully stir the mixture avoiding making bubbles until it is fully incorporated.
- Pour into mold, and tap the sides. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes.
- Gently add the vinegar, sprinkling it evenly across the mixture. After 15 minutes, slightly separate the mixture from the mold, so the vinegar can penetrate the sides. Wait for an hour. Take the sample out of the mold and turn it over to allow the vinegar to reach the other side of the biocomposite. Leave for another hour.
- Take it out of the mold and gentry and quickly rinse it under tap water to clean off the vinegar.
- Let dry for 1-2 days.
